KYB sounds sophisticated, but it's actually like a legal “ID check” for your business. It's about proving you are who you say you are, keeping your account secure, and making sure we're all playing by the same rules.
1. What you will need
Before you start, have on hand:
Legal name of your company, type of entity, tax ID, industry and country of incorporation.
Certificate of incorporation (Certificate of Incorporation).
Data + valid identification of the Authorized Primary User.
Data + identification of any person who owns 25% or more of your company.
A clear ownership diagram (if another company is a shareholder, include that too).
2. Who can do the KYB?
Only the Authorized Primary User, the person with official authority to represent your company can complete the KYB.
There you will see three sections:
Business details: You will be asked to upload proof of address for your company if necessary during the KYB (onboarding) process.
Documentation:
Certificate of incorporation: This document must confirm the legal registration and ownership structure of your company, issued by the local commercial registry.
Any other document that your country or industry requires.
💡 Note: They can upload more documents than the COI, which can be useful in more complex scenarios.
Upon reaching Documentation , we will use your industry/subindustry to display the form EDD (if applicable). You must mark it as completed to send your KYB. If you later change your industry/subindustry , we will show you an alert and the EDD status will reset.
Business representatives: Confirm key roles and identities.
Additional Information: Organize additional requests in a dedicated section.
3. Flow of Business representatives
Step 1: Key Roles
Account creator: Auto-completed, but editable.
Control person: Who has significant control of the company.
Final beneficiaries: Main shareholders (we explain it in the app).
⚠️ Important! For the three key roles (Account Creator, Control Person, UBO) include the following additional information requirements:
- Complete address (with all required fields)
- phone number
Step 2: Verification Process
Choose who will do the liveness check (video identity verification).
Upload a Power of Attorney if required.
Upload IDs for those who do not do the liveness check.
If the Account Creator does not do the liveness check, you do not need an ID.
Step 3: Liveness Check (IDV)
The chosen person completes the verification via Metamap, Vouched or Sumsub .
You can continue moving forward even if your verification is still in process.
Come back anytime to update representatives who didn't take the IDV.
4. Accepted IDs
Passport
National identity card
driver's license
Pro tips: photo of the physical document (no captures or photocopies), good lighting and without glasses.
5. Correcting errors before sending
If you see an error, you can edit before submitting.
After sending it, you can only change it if we ask you for renewal or extra documents.
6. How will you know it was approved?
We will send you an email when our Compliance team gives you the go-ahead.
If we need more information, we will contact you directly.
7. KYB Renewal
Here we tell you what you can expect when it comes time to renew your KYB. To keep everything in compliance, this process is done once a year .
We'll send you reminders via email and in-app when it's time.
You will only be able to make changes during the renewal process.
If any of your representatives change during the year, just send us proof and we will update the information for you.
What you will need to update
When renewing your KYB, be sure to update the Business representatives with the following information:
For the three main roles (Account Creator, Control Person and UBO):
Complete address (with all required fields)
Email
For the Account Creator:
If the Account Creator does not perform IDV, they will need to upload their ID, just like other roles.
To keep everything organized, we will send the IDV information to the corresponding section in KYCP.
For example, if the Control person completed the IDV, your information and power of attorney will be sent directly to the Controlling Person section.
8. Update outside of renewal
KYB information is blocked until renewal, unless we ask you to make specific changes.
9. How do we use your data?
Your KYB data exists only to comply with the law and protect your account.
They are kept securely and never shared without your permission.
