Whether you're sending to your own account or someone else's, the process is straightforward. Here's how to do it step by step.
How does it work?
- Open the app and tap Send Money
- Choose the recipient type:
- My account: your own bank accounts
- Someone else's account: third parties
- Tap Add account
- Select the destination country
- Choose Bank transfer
- Enter the account details
- Define the amount and confirm
What details do I need?
- Full name of the account holder
- Identification number
- Account number
- Full address
- Currency you want to receive
For third-party accounts you'll also need the account holder's full name and exact ID number. For international transfers: IBAN, SWIFT, or BIC depending on the country.
What is an FFC transfer?
Some organizations receive all incoming transfers into a central account before distributing them. If your bank requests an FFC (For Further Credit) transfer, it's simply a way to ensure the money reaches your specific individual account. It's a normal process.
First transfer to a new account?
We run a quick verification:
- Usually takes 1 to 2 hours
- In some cases up to 24 hours
We'll notify you once it's approved.
Limits
| Limit | |
|---|---|
| Per transfer | USD 10,000 |
| Every 24 hours | USD 30,000 |
If you exceed the 24-hour limit, transfers are blocked until 24 hours have passed since your last transaction.
How long does it take?
| Type | Estimated time |
|---|---|
| Local currency bank transfer | 1 to 3 business days |
| International bank transfer in USD | 1 to 5 business days |
Weekends and holidays don't count as business days. If you send on Friday, processing starts Monday.
Exchange rate note
Exchange rates are set by our authorized payment providers in real time. Ontop does not control or modify conversion rates.
Can I cancel a transfer?
Depends on the status:
- SENT: money is on its way. Cannot be reversed.
- IN PROGRESS: there may still be a chance. Reach out to us immediately.
- UNDER REVIEW: there may still be a chance. Reach out to us immediately.
How do I download a receipt?
- Go to your transaction history
- Tap the transfer
- Select Share / Download receipt
Restrictions
- Transfers to personal bank accounts of third parties in the US are not allowed
- Bank transfers to Venezuela are not supported
- For regulatory reasons, third-party transfers are not available when the recipient holds a document from a high-risk country (e.g. Venezuela). If a country does not appear in the Nationality field when adding a bank account, documents from that country are not accepted and the transfer cannot be processed. A document from a permitted country is required
