1. What is Auto-Charge?
Auto-Charge is a feature that securely handles your Ontop membership payments each month. Once you set it up, we’ll automatically process your fees—no need to log in and pay manually.
2. Why is Auto-Charge important?
Auto-Charge keeps your membership active without interruptions. It saves you time and ensures your workers get paid on time—every time. Think of it as one less thing to remember in your onboarding process.

3. How do I activate Auto-Charge?
Just follow these simple steps:
- Go to the Memberships section of the platform.
- Click Add a Payment Method.
- You’ll be redirected to Stripe to securely enter your credit card or bank details.
- Once you’re done, we’ll automatically charge your membership fee every month—no extra work on your end!
4. How much will I be charged?
Your first month is free — no membership fees will be charged during the trial! After that, your membership fee will depend on your plan and how many active contracts you have. You’ll see an estimate on your Memberships page, and the final invoice will be available in your account 24–48 hours before the charge is processed.
5. What payment methods can I use?
- 💳 Credit cards (worldwide)
- 🏦 ACH direct debit (only for U.S. accounts)
6. Can I update or change my payment method?
Absolutely. You can update your payment method anytime via the Memberships page. Just follow the same steps to connect a new card or bank account through Stripe.
Heads up: you can update it up to 3 times per year.
7. Is Auto-Charge optional?
Nope—Auto-Charge is mandatory to use Ontop. It's the only way we collect your monthly membership fee and keep your account running smoothly. Plus, it helps ensure timely payroll for your workers.
8. Will I be notified before you charge me?
Yes, always. You’ll get a notification before each payment so you’re never caught off guard.
9. What happens if my payment fails?
We’ll try the charge one more time. If it still doesn’t go through (e.g., due to an expired card or insufficient funds), we’ll notify you immediately so you can update your details and avoid service interruptions.
10. Can I cancel my membership?
Yes! You can cancel anytime by going to the Subscriptions page and clicking Cancel My Subscription. Your access will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle.
11. What if I no longer want to use Ontop?
Simply cancel your membership from the Subscriptions page. You'll still have full access until your next cutoff date.
